“The perfect family escape in the Dordogne”
We couldn’t have asked for a better base for our family holiday than at Maison Merisier.
The house was beautifully presented, incredibly comfortable, and thoughtfully set up for relaxed living. We loved slow mornings by the pool, long walks, and exploring nearby villages and markets together.
Everything felt calm, generous, and well cared for — exactly what you hope for from a luxury countryside stay. We’ll absolutely be back.

Maison Merisier is a beautiful house in a quiet setting, it’s a gem offering all the space you need for 14 guests, including kids. Very well equipped, with finely furbished and decorated bedrooms/bathrooms. Spacious kitchen with all the appliances and ustensiles you could think of. Plenty of things to do outdoors as well with the good-sized swimming pool, trampoline, bikes, ping-pong table, etc. Emma is also a charming host which promptly answers messages. Lovely!

“A dream stay for wine lovers”
Domaine Bellegarde exceeded every expectation. The location is ideal for exploring vineyards and local restaurants, yet completely peaceful and private.
The house itself is elegant without feeling formal — a place where you instantly unwind.
Evenings with a bottle of local wine on the terrace while the family enjoyed playing tennis or jumping in the pool became our favourite ritual. This is slow, refined travel done properly.

If you ever want to feel (as a Dutch expression says) “like a God in France”: look no further. We spend a week with our family at Maison Merisier, where we all had our own stunning rooms with en-suite bathrooms, 2 living rooms, a huge kitchen, a stunning pool area, and last but certainly not least, an amazing pizza oven!
It’s a 30 minute drive from St Emillion and Pomerol (famous wines), 45 minutes from Bergerac, and 60 minutes to Bordeaux. All very much worth a visit.
This house is a your wining lottery ticket for a perfect stay in the Dordogne/Bordeaux!
